Surrey FA Awarded Kickstarter Funding to Support Grassroots Respect
Following a recent successful funding application, Surrey FA is delighted to announce that it will be dedicating even more resource to increasing the impact of The FA’s Respect campaign throughout Surrey in the 2019/20 season.
We fully recognise that Respect plays a huge part in the experiences had by everyone who takes part in the grassroots game and can impact not only enjoyment but peoples participation altogether.
Whilst many of the usual Respect campaign initiatives will be ongoing, including the ‘21 Days of Positive’ and Silent Weekends, there will be exciting new elements which we hope will include new educational resources, the creation of ‘Respect Champions’ within local communities and for the first time ever a ‘Respect Mentorship’ in partnership with The FA Coach Mentor programme.
Ashley Gumbrell (Football Services Manager and County Respect Lead) commented, “Over the last few years we have seen some excellent examples of how our grassroots workforce has implemented the Respect campaign and our application for funding was a reflection of this, seeking to build on and the great work which has already been completed”.
To further support our planning, Surrey FA will be reaching out to clubs, leagues, players and coaches to help us design these new concepts and bring them to life in the next few months. If you feel you could offer support or have an idea which has or could impact the Respect campaign then we want to hear from you.
