Chelsea U18s Announced For Meadowbank Launch Event
Surrey FA is delighted to announce that The FA Youth Cup holders Chelsea U18’s will be heading to Meadowbank Football Ground for their launch event in July.
The Blues, who won The FA Youth Cup for a joint-record fifth time this year, will be entertaining Oxford United U18’s, in a game that will kick-off on July 16th at 7.30pm in Dorking, with entry to the game completely free of charge.
The brand new, state-of-the-art facility has become the new home for grassroots football in Surrey, with coaches, referees, players and volunteers all set to benefit from the event space and 3G football pitch.
Attendance to the game will be free of charge, with donations encouraged in support of Surrey FA and Specsavers’ main charity partner Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), with volunteers on the evening collecting on behalf of the charities.
“Not only are we proud to be showcasing our brand new football facilities with such an eye-catching game, we’re also very pleased to be able to support RNIB as a result,” said Caroline McRoyall, Surrey FA Chief Executive.
“It’ll be a fantastic night of football, with the country’s best young talent on show, and we can’t wait to celebrate our new home with our partners, whilst supporting such a worthy cause.”
Chelsea’s successful youth set-up has been amongst the best in the country for some time, with players from the U18’s going on to reach the top of the game – much like Ruben Loftus-Cheek who was part of the 2014 FA Youth Cup winning side, now in Russia representing England at the World Cup.
Tickets for the fixture are free of charge, with doors opening from 6pm. To book tickets, please visit the EventBrite page here.
