Applications Open To Clubs For 2018/19 Coach Mentor Scheme

We are now inviting applications from Surrey FA Clubs & Individuals who would like to be part of the 2018/19 FA Coach Mentor programme where you will receive help and support from our Coach Mentors.

During the 2017/18 season, our eight mentors have successfully been working with clubs, leagues and coaches up and down the county. This season we are opening up the opportunity for individual coaches to apply to receive mentoring support as well. NB – priority will go to coaches who are working in a Charter Standard club.

Since the launch of the ‘Coach Mentor Programme’ in 2014 thousands of coaches have received help, support and guidance from mentors throughout the country, and Surrey clubs have been active and fully engaged with the programme.

If you want to find out more about the programme visit our FA Coach Mentor page.

If you or your club would like to be considered for next seasons programme, simply complete the relevant application form (below) and send back to emma.barnes@surreyfa.com by 9th July.

Volunteers in COACHING play an integral part in supporting and developing COACHING PRACTICES across Surrey.

Surrey FA is dedicated to making sure that coaches are provided with complete support, whether that’s in the early stages of their journey or to support their ongoing development ambitions.

We offer a variety of opportunities for both experienced and new coaches to engage in, aimed at developing their own skills in the game.

Involvement in the Mentor Programme will provide coaches with access to a range of benefits including:

  • Access to a FA Coach Mentor, supporting you with individual bespoke 1-1 support
  • Face-to-face support on the ground within the environment where you coach
  • Support towards completing your next FA core qualification (e.g. UEFA C Licence or UEFA B Licence)
  • Bespoke coach development events for you to engage with including observations of match days and training sessions
  • Opportunity to connect with other coaches locally across the county

Our FA Coach Mentors have the passion and dedication to help and support coaches. Our mentoring programme also aims to identify and support coaches who have future ambitions to become Coach Mentors and Community Champions. Developing and supporting more mentors across our affiliated club network is a key focus for us locally and we will work with you to help you achieve your goals.

To be eligible for a mentoring programme, you need to meet the following criteria;
