Surrey FA Hosts Free CPD Event on Refugee Integration for Clubs

Join us for an insightful event on 24 April.

Surrey FA is proud to invite clubs and volunteers across the county to attend a free CPD event focused on Refugee Integration in Football.

The session, taking place on Thursday, 24th April at Meadowbank Stadium, Dorking, will provide valuable insights into creating welcoming and inclusive environments for refugees within grassroots football. The Unite Through Football programme, sponsored by SBHL a leading provider of temporary accommodation for asylum seekers, UTF provides safe and inclusive football opportunities while fostering social connections, improving well-being, and promoting inclusion.

Football has the power to unite communities, and Surrey FA is committed to ensuring that refugees settling in the UK have access to safe and supportive spaces to continue their passion for the game. This CPD event will cover key topics, including:

Understanding diverse refugee experiences
The current landscape of migration
Steps to becoming a ‘Unite Through Football’ Club

By participating in the event, clubs will not only gain crucial knowledge and best practices but will also receive a certificate of completion and a special logo for use in email signatures. Additionally, clubs completing the CPD will be highlighted to Surrey FA’s Unite Through Football Refugee Network, helping connect new arrivals with welcoming football clubs in their communities.

This initiative is part of Surrey FA’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and diversity in football, ensuring that everyone—regardless of background—has the opportunity to participate and thrive within the sport.
