Thorpe Park U16 County Cup Final 2025

Dale’s Hat-Trick Fires Dorking to Thorpe Park U16 County Cup Glory

Our match report from the Thorpe Park U16 County Cup Final.

Dorking Wanderers produced a dominant display to claim the Thorpe Park U16 County Cup, defeating Inspire Girls Football Academy 6-2 in front of 135 spectators.

Inspire started brightly, with Lebus Smith dragging an early effort wide in the 8th minute. Poppy Walton then came close in the 13th, only to see her effort ruled out for offside.

Despite Inspire’s early pressure, it was Dorking who struck first in the 21st minute. Annabelle Maskell found the net with a well-placed shot in off the post. Four minutes later, Maisie Dale reacted quickest to a rebound, making it 2-0.

Dorking extended their lead in the 31st minute, as Dale bagged her second with a composed first-time finish. A Holly Crane free-kick in the 35th minute capped off a ruthless first half, leaving Inspire trailing 4-0 at the break.

To their credit, Inspire refused to back down. Sianna Hegarty and Poppy Walton continued to threaten, and in the 62nd minute, Lebus Smith finally got her reward, firing past the Dorking keeper to reduce the deficit to 5-1 after Dale had completed her hat-trick in the 54th minute.

Hopes of a comeback were short-lived as Brooke Harper restored Dorking’s five-goal cushion just three minutes later, calmly slotting home for 6-1. Inspire thought they had another through Walton, but once again, the assistant’s flag denied them. However, Hegarty did manage to pull one back with a stunning strike into the top corner, making it 6-2.

Dorking saw out the match in control, securing the Thorpe Park U16 County Cup in style. Hat-trick hero Maisie Dale was named Player of the Match, taking home the match ball to cap off a superb individual performance.
