Surrey FA is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 by partnering with Dorking Wanderers FC Women for a special Coach Development event.

Taking place on the evening of Tuesday 11th March, this event offers a fantastic opportunity for female coaches across Surrey to connect, learn, and develop their coaching skills in a supportive and empowering environment.

Accelerate Action – The Theme for IWD 2025

The campaign theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is Accelerate Action. According to data from the World Economic Forum, at the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158—roughly five generations from now—to achieve full gender parity. Accelerate Action is a global call to drive forward initiatives, resources, and strategies that positively impact women's advancement in all aspects of life, including sport.

At Surrey FA, we are committed to increasing opportunities and support for women and girls within grassroots football. Through this event, we aim to:

• Increase participation in the female pathway.
  
• Enhance representation of women in coaching and volunteering roles.
  
• Empower women and girls to make informed health decisions through our HerHealth initiative.
  
• Educate male allies on how to confidently support women and girls in football.
  
• Promote inclusive environments across our grassroots clubs.

What to Expect at the Event

Female coaches attending this event will have the chance to network with like-minded individuals and gain valuable insights from the coaching setup at Dorking Wanderers FC Women. The Women’s First Team and Development Squad will feature in a practical demonstration, providing attendees with direct exposure to professional coaching strategies.

Additionally, as recognition for attending, coaches will receive three FA CPD hours and a free pair of tickets to watch Dorking Wanderers Women FC take on Fulham FC Women on Sunday 30th March.
