The Football Foundation are the charity of the Premier League, The FA and Government that helps communities improve their local football facilities through funding grants.

From goalposts to changing pavilions, whatever you need the Football Foundation has got you covered when it comes to grants for sports clubs in England. 

Impact Across Surrey Football Clubs 

Many football clubs across Surrey have received funding from the Football Foundation which has allowed them to buy new facilities to improve their football experience in their community. 

In March 2024, Old Coulsdon Colts FC were one club who received funding from the Football Foundation. With the funding they received, they were able to purchase new goalposts to help improve the playing experience for their teams.. Met Police Youth FC are another club which received funding from the Football Foundation. They received over £3,500 to go towards the purchase of new portable floodlights for the club. Grants for the purchase of new and preowned floodlights for the use on grass pitch training areas can be found HERE.

In June & July, Farnham United Youth and Ursuline High School, both received funding to improve their grass pitches. Getting pitches match fit at their facilities ensures them a 6-year tapered maintenance to help enhance or sustain the good quality of their grass pitches. In September 2023, Cobham FC opened their new 3G Stadia pitch which they received over £500,000 from the Football Foundation to upgrade their previous grass pitch.  This facility is now a fantastic addition to the local community and enables underrepresented groups the opportunity to access a 3G football facility locally. Other Types of Funding 

The Football Foundation offers small grants up to £25k for a variety of different things shown below. A club can have one application per season. These grants are a great way to improve your club’s facilities, get new equipment and protect your club’s property which previously might have been too expensive.
