Surrey FA Youth Forum named Youth Leadership Team of the Year at The FA Leadership Academy Graduation

The award-winning team are pleased to announce that they are now recruiting for the 2024/25 season.

Last week, at The FA Leadership Academy Graduation, Surrey FA Youth Forum were announced as the winners of the Youth Leadership Team of the Year.

This award recognises the hard work and dedication of the Youth Forum, and how they have positively impacted their football community throughout the 2023/24 season.

The Youth Forum are looking to build on these achievements and successes and are excited to announce that applications for the 2024/25 season are now open! The team are looking for the young leaders of today in Surrey to advocate for young people in football in the county. 

The team are recruiting for the following roles for the 2024/25 season:

  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Champion
  • Welfare Champion
  • Marketing & Communications Champion
  • Workforce Champion

The deadline for applications is 9pm Sunday 15th September 2024. You will be contacted about the outcome of your application during the week beginning Monday 16th September 2024.

During their presentation at The FA Leadership Academy Graduation ceremony, Chairperson Emma Clarke and Workforce Champion Anand Karia spoke eloquently about the journey the Youth Forum had been on over the season, and the impact of their actions on the Surrey Football community.

Over the course of the 2023/24 season, Surrey FA Youth Forum:

  • Were involved with CPD masterclasses
  • Won the Youth Engagement Award at the County FA Recognition Awards for the 2022/23 season
  • Launched the Youth Empowerment Network
  • Led two South East County FA Youth Council Regional Calls and a joint in-person meeting at Wembley Stadium with London and Middlesex County FA Youth Councils
  • Delivered Young Carers football sessions and workshops at the County’s Her Health Summit
  • Collected old football kits to send to those in need in partnership with Kit4Causes
  • Held a Leading the Game event for young people to help them learn and develop their knowledge and skills surrounding the different non-playing roles in football
