International Opponents

If your club wishes to go on tour, play one or more matches against foreign opposition, whether at home or abroad, clubs must send an application form to Surrey County FA Football Association at least 28 days in advance (we recommend you apply as early as possible).

Permission is not needed for one-off matches against teams from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales although documentation is required for matches against teams from the Republic of Ireland and other FIFA countries.

international clearance HELP

International clearance is required for any player over the age of 10 who is seeking to register for a club in England and has previously been registered for a club abroad (including the other Home Associations), or who is a foreign national seeking to register for the first time in this country.

Please note, international clearance forms should be sent to the FA directly (registrations@thefa.com) and not to Surrey FA.

Goal Post Safety

Metal Cup Hooks are still prevalent in the game despite being deemed unsafe and the British Standards Institute (BSi) stating they must not be used on goals structures.

The use of metal cup hooks on goals has actually been banned since 2007/08 and match officials are instructed not to commence matches where such net fixings are evident for safety reasons.

The metal cup hook can cause severe lacerations to various parts of the body if entrapped.
